It all begins with an idea. As the Social Media Manager and Content Creator for Shannon Athletic Club, Co. Clare, I have strategically developed and maintained a compelling online presence that effectively represents the club's community spirit and athletic accomplishments.
Connecting ideas with the audience
In January 2024 I set up a Facebook page and a webpage for Shannon Athletic Club. The main purpose was to inform people about the re-opening after 6 years of being shut down. It turned our that Facebook was the main source of information about the opening of the club in January 2024.
There were over 80 kids on the first training session in January 2024.
Enhancing organic search
Organic media are specially valuable, as they are generated by the users who particularly like our content and want to share it on their own social media. That is why I pay special attention to how the content I create is shared by our followers.
Third party mentions are important also to build relations with our partners: companies, organizations and individuals. Social Media and organic reach help build and evaluate the friendly network of contacts, indispensable for further development of any organization.
Engaging content for the community
Because my work for Shannon AC as well as for Polish Scouts is voluntary, I focus on the most efficient social media channels: Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp. Occasionally I ask members to post content in Instagram.
I aim at frequent posting of informative and funny content. The crucial is to analyse metrics and follow them. Therefore I enhance content in the areas that are highly appreciated by the followers and contributes to the constantly increasing reach and organic publishing.
Posting includes: ephemeral stories, vertical reels, entertaining and informative posts and compelling videos.

The platforms I use correspond with the target audience of both organizations. Facebook is crucial here, as this is the medium most commonly used by age group 35 - 54.
The goal for this year is to attract younger audience through Instagram and Youtube. I would like to enhance the presence of the ever-green content and traffic on Shannon AC website.
I deliberately omit TiKTok channel, as in my opinion it is highly addictive and may cause risk of cyberbullying.
Social media make B2B relations easier and smoother. That’s why we post occasionally on LinkedIn website, to enhance visibility of Shannon AC brand among local businesses.
We use all our social media platforms to promote our relations with TESCO IRELAND. Owning to that, we have been twice nominated to TESCO COMMUNITY FUND Initiative. Once in Limerick and only recently - in Shannon. The latter took place during grand re-opening of TESCO STORE in Shannon.
